Costs
Due to legal regulations and current state health care planning (KBV – Bedarfsplanung), I have a health insurance license (Kassenzulassung) only for Geratal OT Gräfenroda.
This means that in this practice I can treat patients insured in both public and private health insurances.
Despite of the high number of patients seeking for psychotherapy in Jena, according to current state health care planning Jena has enough licensed psychotherapists.
Therefore, I have only a private practice in Jena.
Private health insurance:
For my practice in Gräfenroda I have a health insurance license (Kassenzulassung) from the KV Thuringia and a corresponding billing authorization with the public health insurance companies. The costs for psychotherapy are usually covered by all public health insurances. I will inform you about the exact procedure in the initial consultation. Please bring your insurance card with you.
The practice in Jena remains exclusively a private practice.
Self-pay:
Some patients do not wish to report psychotherapy to health insurance carriers and therefore pay the therapy costs themselves. At the beginning of the therapy, we will sign a treatment contract, which defines the general conditions for the psychotherapy. My fee is based on the official scale for medical fees („Gebührenordnung für Ärzte (GOÄ)).
Public health insurance:
Even though I am state approved psychotherapist, I do not have an insurance license (Kassenzulassung) with the public health insurance funds (Gesetzliche Krankenkassen). This is due to the fact that Kassenärztliche Vereinigung has imposed a “territorial block” for large parts of Germany, on the grounds that psychotherapeutic care for the population is guaranteed by the already licensed psychotherapists. You can find the list of psychotherapists with an insurance license at your state-specific Kassenärztliche Vereinigung.
To arrange a so-called “psychologische Sprechstunde” with a psychotherapist who is licensed by the Kassenärztliche Vereinigung, use their appointment service.
To do this, call the patient service: 11 6 11 7.
